INTEGRATED MARKETING COMMUNICATION (IMC)

Integrated marketing communication is coordination and integration of all marketing communication  tools , avenues, and source within a company into seamless program, which maximizes the impact on consumers and other end users at a minimal cost.

This integration affects all of a firm’s business to business, marketing channel, customer focused and internally directed communication.

An integrated marketing communication plan the primary steps required to complete a marketing plan ; they include

ü  Situational analysis (examining problems and opportunities in the organizations external environment and strength and weaknesses in the firms itself)

ü  Defining marketing objectives (sales, market, customer  actions desired )

ü  Budget preparation

ü  Finalizing marketing stretagies

ü  Evaluation of performance.

Account executive must be aware of the new technologies and alternative media that are available for sending and receiving messages .these include

ü  Buzz marketing ,

ü  Lifestyle marketing .

Communication is the process whereby thought are conveyed and meaning is shared between individuals or between organization

FORMS OF IMC

The six forms of IMC are

ü  Sales promotion

ü  Advertising

ü  Personal selling

ü  Publicity

ü  Sponsorship marketing

ü  Point of sales

Sales promotion; sales promotion are the set of marketing activities undertaken to boost sales of the product or service. There are two types of sales promotions; trade and consumer sales.

Advertising; advertising is the communication relayed from companies to purchase their products. The communication is usually through various forms of paid media i.e. TV,RADIO BILLBOARDS,PRINT.

Personal selling ;Personal selling occurs where an individual salesperson sells a product, service or solutions to client. Salespeople match the benefits of their offering to the specific need of it a client. Today, personal selling involves the development of longstanding client relationships.

Publicity ; Given out of information about a product, a person, or a company  for advertising or promotional purposes.

Sponsorship marketing; This is typically done for promotional purposes, to generate publicity, or to obtain access to a wider audience than your budget can afford.

Point of sales ;a place where sales are made. On a micro level, a point of purchase may be mall, market or city.

A PINK ACADEMIC BIKINI- LEGON GIRLS!

Before some of you gain admission to University of Ghana,
some of us were given the impression that
although God Almighty is Omnipresent, the only
place he is absent from is Legon Campus and that
it is so because all LEGON GIRLS were morally
disgusting. Their counterparts in UCC, TECH, UDS,GIJ
and some of the recently mushrooming University
Colleges in obscure parts of Ghana all have "big"
mouths to speak in condemnation of the Legon
girl's morality. Even Makola Market women most
of whom don't know where Legon Campus is
located "mpo" will flamboyantly narrate how
Legon girls snatch their husbands-- as if sexual
promiscuity is an Undergraduate course here in
UG. It has also become an acceptable traditional
rumour or if you like an unspoken truth, that any
Legon girl who drives a porsche car on campus is
necessarily guilty of prosecution (please note: I
didn't say prostitution) of an immoral agenda
with some "bigman" in government or the
corporate world. While the aim of this article is
not to say ALL Legon girls are literally like The
Holy Virgin Mary, I write in condemnation of that
jaundiced prejudice otherwise called Hasty
Generalization (refer to your Level 100 UGRC 150 and GIJ
notes), that most if not all those speculations out
there are not entirely true of all Legon ladies.
Many of us heard very dangerous stories of how
Legon life was and that we will be safer going to
Tech (KNUST),GIJ or even far-away UDS than coming
here. Some students had to CONVINCE their
mums and dads with illustrative statistical
explanations before being allowed to come to
LEGON! Girls who are are eventually allowed to
report to Legon are taken through a family
counseling as if their daughter is going to the
proverbial "EVIL FOREST". The guys are also taken
through a similar ritual. Personally, I heard
incredible stories of how Legon girls offered their
"bearded meat" on request anytime Black Stars
won matches! Come to think of it, this can pass
for an Adwoa Tampico or "kyekyekule" joke !
But being in UG, I have come to see the untold
positive stories of the institution; including the
story of its beautiful girls and handsome
gentlemen, who are subjected to the judgement
of salt and pepper eating mouths nation-wide.
Nobody tells the story of a certain place called
SARBAH FIELD where the same Legon Ladies
congregate to soak themselves in the Grace of
God and where University Security has had to
disperse throngs of prayer warriors who are neck-
deep in the pursuit of God; nobody tells of the
persistent dawn Evangelism and door to door
preaching that takes place on this Campus with
girls and guys alike. The Muslim Ladies
Commission is never mentioned and their believe
in Allah is silenced. The not so "Godly" ones are
also obsessed with a marathon to beat Prof
Aryeetey's "80% for A" grading system in order
not to disappoint family with E's or F's are left out
of the discussions, a feat to be blamed purely on
the draconian grading system. (There is no chilling
in Legon ooo!!!) Ok, let me put it better, add "not
anymore" to the bracketed sentence. You see
what I mean? As I write, 120 students have been
silently sent home on very poor academic output!
On the fashionable beauties, they serve their
purpose at Beauty Pageant shows and they are
NOT as "baaaaaad" as is put out there. Few are
worse though. Finally, I must admit there are bad
nuts not just here in UG, but everywhere
including but not limited to Tech, UCC, UDS, UEW,GIJ,
UPSA etc etc. However, until the Marys, the Ruths
and the Marthas have had their stories told with
pomp and cheer, the stories of LEGON will
continue to glorify sexy bikinis. Let those "girls"
who by their actions and inactions bring disrepute
to Legon Ladies' names keep in mind that until
the "Children of God" have had their historians,
the story of Legon will justifiably be aluguntugui!

Pharaohs of Egypt have began preparations only a moments aft drawing Ghana in the qualifiers for 2014 world cup in Brazil

The Pharaohs of Egypt have began preparations
only moments after drawing Ghana in the final
phase of the qualifiers for a place at the 2014
FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

Bob Bradley, who took charge of the Egypt
national team in 2011, told GNA Sports after the
draw in Lexor, Egypt on Monday that ‘after
knowing our opponents (Ghana), we have started
preparations.
‘Ghana is a strong team and we have to prepare
very well for them. They (Ghana) have a very
good record in the qualifiers and are one of the
favourites.
‘My team has been playing well so far and we
have to make sure our team is strong, fit and
focused for the game.’

Ghana host the first leg at the weekend of
October 11-15 before visiting the North Africans
on the weekend of November 15-19 for the
second leg.

Bradley is hoping his side could lock down
Egyptian capital, Cairo as venue for the return
duel.
‘Our main concern is to play in Cairo. We hope
that will be resolved soon. We will love to play in
Cairo and that is our dream.’

The winner over the two-leg becomes one of
Africa’s five representatives at the quadrennial
event.

The last time both teams met in a competitive
match was at the finals of the 2010 Africa Cup of
Nations in Angola where Ghana were 0-1 losers.
Bradley was in charge of the United States of
America (USA) that lost 1-2 in extra time to Ghana
at knock out stage of the 2010 World Cup in South
Africa where the Black Stars exited at the quarter
finals.

The Black Stars are hoping for a third successive
appearance at the mundial following previous
attendance in Germany 2006 and South Africa
2010.

Singout 2013

It all happen on 14th September at the international conference center accra,when living streams ministry presented to ghanians SINGOUT 2013...The program really  began when the host choir monarch's praise....after was qwesi oteng who represented ghanaians gospel musicians on that night as usual of him gud tunes and dance skills ....shortly after qwesi was the man from phoenix,AZ ....MALI MUSIC ...his energetic style was widely seen ......Mali really blessed us ....he spend 35 min on stage singing most of his songs to lead God's people in worship and praise....
Just after him was MICAH STAMPLEY ..micah was so wonderful he sung most of his songs,he proved to  us why he won male vocal and praise and worship CD of the year 2005,2007,and 2008 .'holiness'was use for the alter call ...he also spent 45 min on stage and ended the program with a praise .the program needed around 22pm ....SINGOUT 2013 was really a success.Glory be to God and all sponsors and partners....
